WE CAN BOX

Through Talent Trainer, the agency that I work with in Paris, I've had the opportunity to meet this group of such incredible people that are so complementary in every way!

What started off as the idea of a concept, resulted in the realisation of this magnificent weekend that we decided to call #WECANBOX

As the name states, the boxing/kickboxing classes are essential to the program. But there is so much more to this weekend:

We want people to be inspired to try new things, step out of their comfort zones, to feel inspired to take on life in different ways. Simply put: to nourish mind body and soul.

Therefor, to complement the boxing classes we do Yoga and meditation with the excellent coach Louise Duby @wellnessbylouise. Trust me she is not your ordinary yoga teacher! Louise also does all the cooking for the weekend, obviously healthy and organic food. You can expect cosy dinners, great breakfasts and a spectacular brunch at the end of the weekend!

4 times world champion, and former UFC fighter Cyrille Diabaté gives a seminar on mental strength. This seminar will help you see yourself in a different light, as well as give you the tools to make positive changes in your life.

French Kelly Bessis @kellybessis is an inspiration to many because of the interesting life journey she's made. She has used sports as well as mental strength and awareness to radically change her life for the better. A true guru I'd say! Besides being this amazing person,  she is also a heck of an organizer, and without her this project would not have fallen into place.

So all these great people and and activities come together in a chateau from 1800th century that left us all speechless when we saw it the first time! Barely 2 hours from Paris, in Bourgogne you can find this treasure. If you can't find some inner peace and serenity here... well it's just not possible. Even the girls with jobs that shoot their stress levels through the roof felt the serenity pretty instantly and managed to feel relaxed.

To give you a short summary of what this weekend consiss of here's a little schedule followed by a bunch of pictures (Note that the times on the schedule aren't exact. This weekend is made for YOU, and we want you to fully relax and feel at ease . There is nothing mandatory but you'll notice that is a pretty good set up as the weekend goes along!):

5 minute peanut butter chocolate cookie dough

Either eat these little balls simply like shown on the picture, or put them in your vanilla "Nice cream" (I'll share recipe soon),

If you're a B&J cookie dough lover it's A W E S O M E.

I used almond flour instead of oats. I also put a larger amount of oats, but that's just a matter of taste. I had a piece of dark chocolate at home that I used. Like 85%.  oh and I used hazelnut milk.

The recipe contains coconut sugar, which is cool and all, but really it's not thaaat much better than regular sugar (I've been reading about a bunch of articles about it, it's promoted to be a super product like coconut oil when it really isn't). I'd recommend using dates instead. Just squish them nicely and blend them in the mixture.

What I love about this recipe is that it's so simple to go by eye measurements. Plus you can tweak it as you go along. I rarely make any dishes exactly as a recipe, theyre just inspiration.

Here you go!

Pre training

Paris is H O T today! I'm so happy, I worship the sun and heat.

Speaking of nothing, My bf and I where watching the Fights from UFC 211 today, I rarely manage to stay awake when the fights are in America (they're at like 6am in Europe). No can do, I try but at one point my body is like "f*** the workd* and shuts down. Boom. Grenade sleep. As always, Joanna pretty damn excellent. And I definitely wanna see Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier have another go at it. Such an entertaining fight until the stoppage!

Now I'm having a little pick me up coffee, and lots of water before training. Wrestling then grappling!

Ciao!

Long time no seen!

Ah ma gaaad!! It's been like forever!

It feels like catching up with an old friend that you want to tell everything and you don't know where to start

Like maybe my fight a week ago? Or that I've found some new inspiration for cooking? I do this really weird thing when I'm on a diet: some people might call it torture, but when I'm dieting that's when I look for new recipes! It's kinda sick I know. My friends always laugh at me cause they see me liking the SHIT out of Instagram food accounts. It works for me ok, don't judge!

Anyways, I'll let the photos leading up to the fight and some pics from the D day do the talking:

Stripping at the weighins

52,25kg (fight was at 53kg) so obviously I had no problem making weight. However, I will let you in on what happened before though: like 4 days before the fight I was at 54,2. We where like "pffff this is a piece of cake", CHILLIN! Ok, so what happens? I stay on the same weight for 3 days. And I start to stress, cursing at my body for making me go for a couple of more runs than I wanted to. The day of the fight I get my periods, which obviously explains it all. I had completely NOT calculated that being a female would interfere in the weight cut. I had forgotten that I was one, and that I had to keep that little detail in mind... cause otherwise if you control how you eat and train you can pretty much calculate what you'll weigh every day. Fortunately the adjustments where fine, but I was completely dramatic obviously... I'm Latina after all haha

We went out after the fight but I have no pics unfortunately! When there's gaps in my blog it's probably on my insta stories @c.rivarola !

The day after I got treated to this... it was on my list of "what to eat after my fight". However I dunno how you are after a diet, but I've gotta be careful with eating like a pig cause I get a heartburn If i go nuts.

Fighting and fashion!

Hey guys,

Hope you've had a great weekend. I sure did! We had 2 guys from the Snake team fighting at Superior challenge in Stockholm.

Roggy lost on points but he really hurt the guy, leaving his foot prints all over him...unfortunately the guy did a few two many takedowns scoring points and that's what got him the win.

Kevin did the fight of his life probably, taking the belt home and leaving the arena out of breath.

David from Allstars did a great performance winning on points, on the same card. He's tough as nails.

And Frantz from Allstars did a really nice performance in Cage warriors same night. Winning by a RNC.

Impressive fights by all of you congratulations!

 Now...from fighting to fashion!

About 10 days ago I was called to a meeting a modeling agency in Paris, sports models. When I got there, they kind of interviewed me, took my measurements, gave me a contract etc.

I told you that part I think.

What I didn't tell you, is that one of the bookers kind of peeked over at us and she told me that I would actually be perfect for a casting they were doing at the moment.

The client was Yves Rocher, and the casting was the next day.

Being a slight control freak I got to the casting like 30 min early (in my defense you never know with traffic here!), so I took a coffee at a really cosy cafe nearby the studio where the casting was held. It's called Maison Plisson.

IMG_1532.JPG
IMG_1531.JPG

I get to the casting and most of the girls waiting are definitely model looking girls, you know tall skinny etc. My petite muscular self kind of stuck out hehe.

Walking out of there it felt good. And a few days later I received an email saying I was on a shortlist for the role. But there was one little problem: I wasn't going to be there for the call back!

Fortunately my agency called and said that the director wanted to do a skype meeting with me, knowing I was in Sweden.

So with Cyrille holding my phone, I did some acting in the middle of a restaurant for the director. Omg that must have looked so funny!

Long story short: I got the job!!!! AND we're shooting in Barcelona!

Im so exciteeeeed! I will keep you in the loop friendos!

Diet foods

Some of the stuff I had while on a diet:

Tofu fried in chili garlic and Garam masala

Cucumber, orange peppers and coriander.  Lemon juice and pepper to season it.

I like to make plenty of different little dishes when I'm on a diet. Makes it slightly more interesting to eat. Also: Coriander is like the shizzle. I feel very sorry for those of you who do not like it. It's fresh, and it gives any salad a great touch!

Doughnut cravings

So this happened:

FullSizeRender.jpg

Cyrille prolonged one week of diet to 9 days, which is fine. I'm just bored of it, plus there will be no like "treat" after I'm done. Normally you get to fight. So this time I want doughnuts. I've had some weird doughnut craving for like 2 weeks...

So how's it going? Ive stagnated a bit at 55,4 kg, but yesterday I didn't train, and the day before I think I ate a bigger amount of food then I should have. Probably because  subconsciously  I counted on having the 2 extra days.

But as you can see, I look healthy, I've been a bit tired after training, but it's completely normal! So it's all good! You'll be hearing more on this after Tuesday!

Have a lovely day!

On the right track!

The diet is going alright. I'm currently at 56,4kg since Monday when I was at 57,2. Its good but not great.

I only had a 1 hour run yesterday and my body is now accustomed to more intense training as well as more hours. The thing was  I had a few meetings yesterday that kept me from going to the gym at my ordinary hours, so I will have to compensate today!

I need to be drinking more water as well...

Many have wondered what I eat after 17h when I stop eating carbs. Unfortunately I've been in no mood for inspired cooking so this is it:

I'll try to find inspiration to make you something more fun by the end of the week!

The first meeting I had yesterday was with my new modeling agency in Paris.

They booked a meeting with me to take polaroids, sign a contract and to get all my details. I got a great vibe from them!

LOVE their blade looking business cards!

Cyrille came with me and at the end of my meeting they asked if he had ever been interested in modeling. He was like "eh eh eh" lol. So cute.

After that meeting we had lunch at a buddy's place called la nouvelle cantine. Super fresh, healthy, organic and always one vegan alternative.

Check them out on insta @lanouvellecantine. Metro station "bonne nouvelle".

I had like an hour to kill before meeting up with Emma from talent trainer, and Kelly whom I had prepared for her first time in Thailand. This girl has got a lot of projects going on herself now, a few that we discussed together, but the meeting was mostly about a training weekend I'm organizing together with talent trainer. It's in Chateau de Saulces and we're going to have plenty of awesome activities as well as be eating like kings and queens in a beautiful environment. I will making a post next week and you'll get all the details!

After finishing the "business" part of the conversation, me and Kelly stayed and talked about like everything, she is absolutely ADORABLE, and very ambitious. I like that trait in people. Very inspiring.

When I got home I went out for my run. It was pretty chilly, so I had to make sure I was properly dressed:

Experiments

I might have a fight in -52kg coming up in May. That's the lowest weight I've ever fought in (I've only fought in 54kg before), which means we've got to experiment a little this week.

Why? My coach wants to see how much/fast I can drop in a week being as healthy as possible. This morning I weighed 57,2 kg. So it's actually not a crazy amount of weight I have to lose. But still, I haven't done it before, especially not in one week.

So basically I'll be able to eat carbs in the mornings and for lunch, then like a salad in the evening. Of course throughout the diet I'll always eat clean food in very moderate portions.  We'll see how far that takes me, and how much I'll have to cut taking a hot bath after (apparently sauna won't be necessary, thank GOD!!).

This morning I had almond milk, with half a banana, oats and a mix of different nuts and berries!

Révèle

People!

Yesterday was a great day, Paris is absolutely wonderful at this time: spring finally showed up!

I learnt about it the hard way though, with my allergies sucker punching me with the power of like, I dunno Mark Hunt? Teary eyes, pounding head, runny nose... all that good stuff!

It's better now, THANK GOD, so I can enjoy spring as much as the next one. I took my baby girl out for a ride. And no I'm not talking about no red sports car...

I'm talking about HER! All my bikes are called "svarta faran", the black danger in Swedish.

IMG_0097.JPG

This post is however not dedicated to praising Svarta faran (even though she deserves it).

In this post I wanted to tell you about a brand I had the pleasure to work with as they were launching their products. It's a clothing brand focusing on the necessities of FEMALE athletes. Yes I accentuated female, because that is what they do. Having junk in our trunks and practicing full contact sports makes the fitting of sports wear a bit more complexed than just putting on a pair of tights and a t-shirt.

These clothes have a design that is supposed to lessen the impact when you fall to ground like in rugby or MMA, as well as men getting punched or kicked in the chest (these are just some of the functions). I found it pretty interesting that they use some of the materials that are used for the protective gears of bikers.

Révèle did their pre launch of their brand a couple of weeks ago and invited me to do a kickboxing session for their group of guests. They were all such good sports, and you could tell that these chicks like to train hard. Many of them play rugby etc so it was pretty cool. I've never played rugby so I was happy to learn a thing or two about it after the session when talking to the girls.

Cyrille came along so I could show the girls how a little pad work might look like when I train with my coach. Next to me is wonderful Alexandra from Talent Trainer who introduced me to The founders of révèle. Next to Alex is clémence, cofounder of révèle.
