To celebrate Jesus bday, I'm back with a little blog post!
First of all, merry Christmas! I hope you're finishing of this weekend well rested - hopefully not because of severe food comas! IF however your family stuffed you like a turkey and you're having a food baby... No problem, I'm sure you got great nap out it!
I had to put my vegan nonsense (kidding its not nonsense it's great) to the side for the holidays or I'd be eating ruccula. We spent the holidays with my bfs family, and food was, as all the Xmas meals I've had, very much a feast on animal bodies (sounds horrible when you put it like that huh? I wanted to go for something cuter like "animally" so I wouldn't gross you out, but screw it...)
I actually looked up a bunch of vegan recipes for fun and Jamie Oliver has a bunch that seemed super tasty .
I won't lie tho... I really, really, really enjoyed EVERYTHING I ate. Hehe
As starters we had the choice of oysters, fois gras on toast or salmon. I had the fourth choice which was: all three of them. Awesome.
The main course was lobster in a creamy sauce with veggies. Delicious. But can't remember the name.
Then a fine selection of cheeses. I will not lie, I tried every single one except the ones with mold... I'm not that French.
And last but not least either chocolate mousse or pannacotta with red berries. Sweet Jesus, happy birthday...
We had a great time , lots of laughter with C's crazy cousins. As usual his grandmother took a few blows for the sake of every one else's amusement, and I must say she's a great sport and laughs her head off when they go down memory lane!
Today I'm not at my best having cough and a fever. I have a tendency to catch whatever everyone around me has. It's like I get sick out of sympathy so you don't feel alone in your misery.
My kindness is killing me tho so as of tomorrow I'm planning to stop being nice. Santa Claus was here already anyways...hehe.
C made me like a potion with honey, ginger and some other spices, he was very secretive about it, but it worked pretty well to numb the throat out a bit. I'll get the recipe out of him and share it!
Oh why I've been hiding out for the past month? Well work, sickness, training and then I had to send my "good phone" for repair since it was acting up like a two-year-old! It will be ready in time for New Years. And of course for THAILAND!!
Until then I'm getting by with my "crappy phone" and of course the baby iPad !
