Cyrille was invited to do an MMA seminar in a martial arts gym that has recently been inagurated. So we came over for a weekend from Paris.
The flight is 1 or 2 hours so literally no effort to escape the high paced life in Paris.
...and then there was a half an hour delay.
We don't know why, but we assume it had something to do with a great bunch of police and military cutting of some areas outside the airport. Bomb threats popped into our minds instantly but we really don't know.
When we finally got to Corsica, Bruno who owns the gym, and his wife Stéphanie, were waiting to pick us up. Since day 1 they have taken care of us like royalty, amazing and very attentive people!
They dropped us of at the hotel to freshen up for a few minutes (later on we changed hotel actually)
And then they took us to a "bar/restaurant" on the beach where we had drinks and pizzas. I LOVED the ambience! Unfortunately no photos!
We got home pretty late, but we were quite fresh in the morning to have some breakfast before the first session of the seminar.
I'll show you the bunch of photos from the seminar in another post, cause I didn't take any with my own camera!
So, anywayzzz, first session was from 9-12, lots of basic techniques for MMA since most of these people only do muaythai on amateur level.
Fortunately for me there was a female fighter I saw fight a month ago on a French event called 100% fight. So I was excused from assisting Cyrille to train with her!
Around noon we went to have lunch with Bruno, Stephanie and their son at a place called Tahiti that was AH-MA-ZING!
Bruno and Stephanie scored a LOT of hosting points taking us here!
After finishing lunch we went back to do the other half of the seminar. Everyone was super happy when it was over, taking a bunch of photos and getting their gloves and t-shirts signed, by Cyrille not me hehe...
After a long ass day, B AND S (not BS ok?!) took us back to their house for some chillaxin in the pool.
Theyve got an incredible mountain view and I must admit I miss that kind of serenity when in Paris!
Guys I'll let you in on the rest soon, B and S had a pretty cool surprise for us this morning. I'm beat and I'm gonna dive into this bed for a nap!
