Friday midday, me and Marina caught the last rays of sun before these cold winds started hitting stocktown (fortunately theyre gone!)
After that I had a great sparring session at Allstars.
It's pretty cool when I've been away Paris for a while, training and drilling like a maniac, and then come back to see how I do against people here in stockholm. It's like a diagnosis of my fighting each time.
I can compare how often I get taken down, how much strikes I land (or that get landed on myself for that matter). Love it. There's nothing more depressing than feeling like you're stagnating.
Saturday was nice too. I took my bike to go see my dad & co. I needed to go running since I wouldn't be able to go to the gym later. Luckily he needed to go shopping for meat (we're from Uruguay, veganism is like a disease ok..?), so he went on his bike and I ran next to him to the butchery El gaucho, ran by Luis, a Uruguayan guy that pretty much all of us Uruguayans in Stockholm know about.
He used to have his shop downstairs in Hötorgshallen, but changed location close to Råsunda.
Omg all those Cheeses and chorizos and I'm stuck with my stupid salads haha.... Jeez. Nah I'm kidding, it's bearable but still mmmm....
Before going to Scandinavian fight nights I popped by Habibis 4 year party to say hello to everybody. I also had to go shopping for things to bake for Awazs baby shower next day that me and her sister were arranging.
Unfortunately I forgot to take pics at SNF, sorry!
What I can say is that Allstars possesses a lot of talent, however I dont think all of them got to shine and show what I know that they're capable of. Some of the opponents weren't really up to their standards so the fights ended really quick with very little fight.
Eitherway, the event was really entertaining, and I think there was a great ambience!
The fight I enjoyed the most was Hamza Bougamsas fight (thaiboxer doing his MMA debut, Google his fights if you don't know him). He slaughtered his opponent with some nasty low kicks, and you guys already know how much I like that hehe.
He didn't win that way, but he sure made an impact piecing up his opponents front leg. Apart from his stand up he got to show that he'd been working on his take down defense, sprawling well and getting out pretty smoothly out of every situation.
Anyways, I had a great time, met a bunch of old friends, former teammates etc.
When I got home I was exhausted but I had to prepare some for Sunday, so at like 00:00 I started baking scones...
